Help With TAF

Transfer Audio & Files (TAF) is a complimentary service provided by Ascopist4U

TAF is the perfect solution to transfer large files or sensitive data. TAF is incredibly easy to use, totally secure while avoiding hassles when you need to email large files. We offer this service at no additional charge to you.

Easy to use

Just click on the TAF link on the navigation bar, enter an e-mail address and click to upload your file. An e-mail notification is instantly sent to Ascopist4U that your job has arrived. You will receive an e-mail notification that Ascopist4U has received and downloaded your files. The editing of your job is now in progress.

Send large files at no additional cost to you

For a court reporter who must send large files, TAF can simplify your life. Send audio, exhibits, PDFs, Word documents, images and other business files to your scopist. TAF is the one-click solution for any kind of file transfer.

Total security

TAF uses advanced 128-bit SSL encryption so you can send anything to us with complete peace of mind. And with our easy user management, you will only be able to see your own folders and not data intended for other clients.

Thumbnails

Sometimes it's helpful to be able to identify files visually. TAF automatically creates thumbsnails for files to help you stay organized and save time.

Introduction to Help with TAF:

When you first log in you will see a page containing the information below:

<Back to top>

In the left column, click on the folder with your name on it:

<Back to top>

Looking in the right pane only, you will see the Upload Files button at the very top of the pane. Click on this button to transfer a file or multiple files.

<Back to top>

A new screen appear with the following information. If you want to upload multiple files for the same job, enter a title and some details about the job (like i.e. CaseCatalyst, 54 pages, audio line-by-line, due in 24 hours), and all the files will appear after uploading with the same details and title. If you want to upload two different jobs, don't enter information here, because it would be the wrong information then - you have the option to enter/modify the title after uploading:

We cannot recommend using the Enhanced Java Upload - it seems to be really slow.

<Back to top>

After you entered some information about the job, click on the button with Choose Files and a window will pop up showing your computer. Browse to the folder with the content you would like to upload and select either a single file or multiple files (in this example we are uploading one job with multiple files):

<Back to top>

After selecting the files and clicking on the button Open a new screen containing the files ready to be uploaded appears. Note that your title and description is now hidden. You have the option to select to send a notification to a third party and also whether or not to overwriting existing files. The default is deselected. Do not select to notify if you want to notify us - we are automatically getting an alert as shown later:

<Back to top>

After clicking on the button Upload Files the transfer screen is in progress:

<Back to top>

The right pane will now show the uploaded files and out to the right if you added details it has a little yellow sticky-note. Since we added a note the same note has been applied to all three files:

<Back to top>

If you click on the note, a small popup window appears with the content:

<Back to top>

We will almost simultaneously receive a notification similar to the one below. We can either go the long way of logging on to the site entering your folder and downloading your files, or we can simply choose to click on the link provided in the email (here we choose 'easy' and click on the link):

<Back to top>

Because the job has multiple files, it automatically compresses the files into a zipped folder and asks whether to open the file or save it. We choose to save the file and recommend you do the same:

<Back to top>

Since we chose to save the file, a window pops up and asks where to save it. In our example we chose the desktop:

<Back to top>

After saving to the Desktop, the icon looks something like this:

<Back to top>

Now just right-click on the file and select Extract All...
